Pennsylvania Ice Cream

Pennsylvania is the sixth-largest dairy producing state in the nation, and dairy makes up the largest sector of the state's agriculture industry.  Dairy farmers in the state work hard to produce home-grown feed to supply enough food for their cows year-round.  Dairy farms also support their local communities, generating around $5 billion in economic revenue for the state in terms of jobs created and taxes and services paid.

Manning Dairy Farm is a small farm located just outside of Scranton that has been cranking out ice cream since the 1960's.  While the ice cream is available as several stores, visitors can also buy their ice cream next door to the dairy barn.  Manning's features dozens of flavors, including Butter Beer- a mix of butterscotch swirled in buttercream ice cream!
